NEW ENGLAND ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY IS PROUD TO HOST:

 
RESNA: Fundamentals Course in Assistive Technology
October 17-18, 2007
 

This two-day course will cover the ABC's of assistive technology and will

:
  • Provide a broad review of the various areas of assistive technology for professionals working int he AT field.
  • Provide individuals who are interested in the field of AT with an overview. Designed for newcomers as well as experienced professionals looking to expand their perspective of AT

****Deadline for early registration is September 17, 2007. After this date there will be an additional $50.00 late fee incurred.

NOTE: Courses with less than 40 registrants are subject to cancellation!
 

 

 

This fundamentals course is designed to:

  • Provide individuals who are interested in the field of assistive technology an overview of the various areas of assistive technology
  • Provide assistive technology providers with a review in breadth of knowledge of the various areas of assistive technology

Target Audiences include:

  • Rehabilitation and education professionals working with or implementing use of Assistive Technology including Speech Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Engineers, Technologists, Special Educators, Suppliers, Manufacturers, Policy Specialists, Information and Referral Specialists, End Users and Others interested in AT.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a basic understanding of terminology, principles and applications of clinical practices as they relate to assistive technology
  • Gain a basic understanding of terminology, principles and applications of technical areas as they relate to assistive technology
  • Develop an understanding of the general assessment process, team, principles, goal writing and related measures of functional performance as they apply to AT provision
  • Develop a basic understanding of how technology features, products and theories apply to interfacing, selecting and recommending assistive technology interventions
  • Describe major sources of funding for AT
  • Describe how RESNA Code of Ethics applies to your daily work environment
  • Recognize and appropriately use relevant terminology for the various different categories of AT presented
  • Identify characteristics of equipment features for the various different categories of AT presented

CANCELLATIONS:
 
RESNA reserves the right to cancel this course. The deadline for cancellation of a course is October 1, 2007. Neither RESNA nor the co-sponsor will be responsible for reimbursing non-refundable airline tickets to any registrant in the event of course cancellation.
 
Registrants may cancel their attendance up to October 1, 2007 but will be subject to a $35 administrative fee. No refunds are available for cancellations after that date. All registrations must be paid in full by October 1, 2007.
