About the presenter:
 
Sharon Pratt has specialized in the field of seating and mobility for over 20 years. She has her physical therapy degree from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, has managed her own clinical practice in Toronto, worked as the senior policy coordinator for the Ontario government's Assistive Devices Program, and now works as education manager for Sunrise Medical. Ms Pratt has given over 500 presentations on seating and mobility to physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and case managers worldwide.
 
About the conference:Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
  • Discuss the goals of seating and mobility;
  • Explain normal vs. deviated postures and their relationship with function and skin;
  • Discuss best practices in the management of decubitus ulcers related to seating;
  • Demonstrate "the mat assessment";
  • Explain the importance of accurate measuring and set up;
  • Formulate the assessment findings to develop objectives;
  • Translate assessment findings into equipment parameters;
  • Evaluate products using a scientific and clinical approach.
Fee: $40. Box lunch is $6.25 (mandatory). No conference charge for DMR employees. Checks payable to "Friends of Hathorne"
