Training Opportunity For Educators
Beginning this summer, Lesley University, in cooperation with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, will offer two sections of an online course for educators on accessible instructional materials. This online course will be available at no cost to Massachusetts educators. The course will help participants take advantage of new legislation, technologies, and resources that enable schools to provide accessible instructional materials for students with print disabilities. The course will also cover ways to integrate these instructional materials (primarily digital text and audiobooks), along with assistive technology, throughout students' instructional programs. A course description, along with registration information is available at http://www.lesley.edu/summer/content/access_to_print_info_reg_form.pdf.
These courses are provided with funding from the AIM Consortium, which is coordinated by CAST. The AIM Consortium, supported by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education programs (OSEP), works with 15 States to improve the timely delivery of high quality accessible education materials to students with print disabilities.
