Job Summary:
 
Assess/develop and implement intervention plans for individuals of all ages with communication disorders as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing consultation to professionals, schools, parents, and persons with disabilities.
 
Adhere to University, IDS and TLC policies, procedures and regulations.
 
Provide consultation and training in communication strategies for children and adults with disabilities, their families, teachers, therapists and assistants.
 
Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing consultation to schools using a mobile unit throughout Mississippi requiring some overnight travel.
 
Assist with maintenance of inventory of augmentative communication devices.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Participate in continuing education relating to assistive technology applications  for communication disorders.
 
Evaluate communication needs of individuals and develop and implement intervention strategies.
 
Complete required data entry, paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
 
Design and implement educational activities for teachers regarding intervention strategies for students with communication challenges.
 
Provide excellent computer, verbal (presentation) and written communication skills.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
A master's degree or equivalent in the area of speech-language pathology from an accredited program in speech-language therapy.
 
Licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Health as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
 
Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
 
Must be willing to travel overnight and maintain flexible, positive attitude and demeanor required by the demands of teamwork and travel.
