Easter Seals to Present Kurzweil 3000 Forum

Parents, educators and professionals can learn about the new features of Kurzweil 3000 v11 on Feb. 25 in a free forum at the Easter Seals Assistive Technology Regional Center, 256 Union St. in New Bedford.

Kurzweil 3000 is comprehensive reading, writing and learning software for struggling readers, including students with disabilities or learning disorders.

The forum will provide an overview of Kurzweil 3000 and a description of its newest features. The Main Toolbar, and Reading, Study Skills and Writing toolbars will be reviewed. The new Writing Tools will be emphasized, including Brainstorm, Outline, Column Notes, Draft and Review features.

Jean K. Des Roches, an Easter Seals assistive technology specialist, will be the presenter for the forum.  It is part of Easter Seals' commitment to expanding access to assistive technology so children and adults with disabilities will have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play.

The session begins at 6 p.m. and requires advance registration.  To attend, contact Michelle at 508-992-3128 or mruffinelli@eastersealsma.org.

The forums are being presented in partnership with the City of New Bedford through a Community Development Block Grant and MassMATCH.
