Assistive Technology Project Coordinator,Full Time 
 
Assistive Technology Program for the District of Columbia (ATPDC)
 
The Assistive Technology Program for the District of Columbia (ATPDC) mission is to provide programs to increase access to, and acquisition of assistive technology for persons with disabilities of all ages in the District of Columbia.
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The AssistiveTechnology Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing project activities that will improve access to, and acquisition of assistive technology devices and services.  The Assistive Technology Coordinator must possess a B.A. or B.S. Degree in a disability or technology-related field, and experience in positions entailing management of simultaneous activities, monitoring of budgets, and interaction with various publics.  The individual must have knowledge of assistive technology and accessible information technology.  The Assistive Technology Project Coordinator performs the following specific duties under the supervision of the Program Manager of the Assistive Technology Program:
 
  • Creates and executes work plans for ATPDC staff to complete specific project responsibilities.
  • Monitor budget expenditures for project activities.
  • Develop and evaluate program policies and quality assurance procedures.
  • Compile the AT Program quarterly and yearly data collection spreadsheets.
  • Serve as staff liaison and provide direct support to the Assistive Technology Advisory Council.
  • Identify funding opportunities for program activities.
  • Maintain and update the AT Program websites.
  • Serve as staff liaison to specialized community and national groups on assistive technology issues.
  • Make presentations at local, regional and national meetings and conferences; assist in training activities and preparation of training materials.
  • Demonstrates assistive technology and accessible electronic and information products to individuals and groups.
 
 REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a field related to services for individuals with disabilities and assistive technology'
  • Three (3)years demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology devices, such as telecommunications, computer access, augmentative communication, and low vision devices, and accessible electronic and information technologies.
  • Three (3) or more years relevant experience working with diverse groups of people, including persons with disabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Website development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation. (Some overnight travel may be required.)
  • Ability to lift/move equipment and other materials of 40 lbs. of weight.
 
SALARY RANGE
$45,000 - $53,000 depending on education and experience.  University Legal Services offers an excellent employee benefit package including health, life and short and long-term disability insurance.
