Wheels Across America Tour

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital will be hosting

The MV-1 WHEELS ACROSS AMERICA TOUR

First Factory-Built, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle in Town Ready for You to Experience

What: A new American car company, the Vehicle Production Group, is unveiling the revolutionary MV-1 vehicle on the streets of Boston as part of a 27 city road show. The MV-1 is the first factory-built, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, wheelchair accessible vehicle. The MV-1 will be coming to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Interested consumers will be able to experience firsthand the vehicle's unparalleled accessibility and learn about its car-like ride and comfort with truck-like safety and durability.

Why: thousands of Massachusetts residents use wheelchairs or electric scooters, not including visitors. For these individuals, routine activities such as traveling in a vehicle present a significant obstacle in their daily lives. Even as the country marks the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilites Act (ADA) this month, there still is a large gap in transportation options for people with mobility disabilities.

Where: Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
125 Nashua St, Boston MA 02114

When: Wednesday, July 7, 2010
9:00 am-1:30pm, Outside Parking Lot
