Maximizing Assistive Technology in Consumers' Hands

Capable Somerville 2014 

A one-of-a-kind event merging art and accessibility, in celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. From 5:30-7 PM is a series of exciting presentations on disability and employment in the 21st century, including a demonstration of new accessible technology from InnoTria, an interactive presentation on living and working while blind, and a discussion with people who are leading the way on creating disability employment in the Greater Boston Area.

From 7-9 PM, a true first: four poets with disabilities, all stars of the New England slam scene, will take to the stage to share their art. Ariel Baker-Gibbs, Lewis Morris of Flatline Poetry, former Mill City slammaster Zeke Russell will all spotlight, and the featured poet of the evening will be slam legend Ryk McIntyre.
