Join the Push for More Captioners and Realtime Writers

The U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate are currently reconciling the College Opportunity and Affordability Act of 2007 (H.R. 4137, S. 1642), better known as the Higher Education Reauthorization Act. This bill includes language put forward by the National Court Reporters Association to create a competitive grant program to train realtime writers to provide captioned information and communication access for the 30 million Americans who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Through this legislation, we hope to dramatically increase the number of qualified broadcast captioners and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) providers. 
 
But to make this a reality, we need your help. Please take a few minutes
