Learn About Bank Loan, Credit
at Easter Seals Workshop
 
The who, what, why and how of bank loans will be the subject of a March 23 workshop run by the Massachusetts Assistive Technology (MA AT) Loan Program, which is operated by Easter Seals.
 
 
The workshop, Financial Literacy 101, is open to Massachusetts residents and will be held at the Easter Seals  office 484 Main Street in Worcester, beginning at 3 p.m. Dr. Jason Luciano, MA AT Loan Program director, will conduct the session.
 
Participants will learn basic banking terms, how to achieve a "top tier" credit rating and how to borrow money.They also will gain an understanding of the current credit climate and how to deal with various situations that arise in the process.
 
This workshop is free, but space is limited and reservations are required.  To reserve a spot, call Leo Tonevski at (800) 244-2756, ext. 428.
 
The MA AT Loan Program offers low-interest loans to individuals with disabilities and their families so they can purchase much-needed assistive technology and services that will enable the to live more independently.  The loans may be used to purchase communication devices, specially adapted computers, Braille equipment and hearing, visual aids and much more.  Adapted vehicles and certain vehicle and home modifications also are eligible.
 
The program is operated by Easter Seals in partnership with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) and Sovereign Bank.
