New Webinar Date! Using Traditional Medicaid and Medicaid Waivers to Fund Assistive Technology to Support Work
|
RESNA Catalyst Project's At and Employment Webinar Series: Join us for a webinar on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM EST. RESNA Catalyst Project Partners James R. Sheldon, Esq. and Diane Straube, Esq. with Neighborhood Legal Services will be presenting this webinar. Traditionally, Medicaid has been viewed as funding equipment to support medical needs. During the webinar, the presenters will discuss under traditional Medicaid how devices can be funded under a medical justification knowing the device will also be used to support a work goal, or using a coverage category other than durable medical equipment to fund items like smart phones and tablets, which fail the "primarily used to serve a medical purpose" test. The presenters will then address the special funding opportunities that may exist under Medicaid waivers to fund items that are primarily or exclusively to be used to support work activity.
